Who speaks for the dead?

Through the years I have interviewed and worked with many mediums. Some well known, others not so much, but one thing has always bothered me, what if what  they are telling  us is incorrect?

It is not the ordinary things that they tell us that bothers me, but rather the negative information that they tell us that does bother me. Sometimes they are quick to announce that this person was a murdered, sex abuser, thief,  criminal  and so on and so on. But is it the truth?

Have they done any research to prove that what they are saying is true?
Are there any newspaper articles or any other legal documentation backing up their claims?

NO?  Then are they ethically or morally entitled to say such thing?

They will tell us that although this person is dead, his spirit is still with us. How would that spirit feel if what they were saying was false? How would the living relatives feel hearing that their father, grand father, whoever was a pedophile?

If it is false, is it not slander?
Could a relative sue and what course does the dead have?

I  truly believe that  mediums believe that what they are saying is true, but what if it is not?
Who speaks for the dead.?

i never thought about that side of it. I'm sure a ghost would be pretty PO'd by it and take it out on the family if it's not true.

As a psychic medium, I know what I say is not some stupid crap like you see and hear on the tv shows etc.
I am careful about what I say, I know that a spirit would be ticked off if I said something stupid! I also try to get some sort of validation as to what I have heard a spirit say to me. Which I have many validations to back up what I do.
I don't do what I do for money either. I do what I do to help the living and the dead. Both wish to hear or get answers for whatever reason. I would never spit out something rediculous as seen by some.
I would rather be unknown to most and well respected by many others, including the dead!
S'gi!

Ongoing development is an important part of being a responsible medium. There is a tactful way of delivering all information so it can be validated by the individual, so that you're not blurting out information or making statements that may not be correct. That being said, a medium's work is as unique as they are. How they choose to develop, how the information is relayed, the reason why they're doing it in the first place - all this is important. And the person being 'read' has the responsibility to know why they're sitting there with that particular medium.

I have often wondered the same thing. I have many questions that I would love to ask my father, however the only time I asked those questions were to someone who got it completely wrong and took my money before hand. I know with my heart there are people who can do this and do it for the right reasons. They are the ones who speak for the dead and the ones the dead can trust.
